Harley Fellowships


The J.B. Harley Awards
for 2024


The Trustees of the J B Harley Research Fellowships Trust Fund are pleased to announce the thirty-first series of awards,
offering support to assist research on the history of cartography,
in the map collections of the United Kingdom

Awards have been made to:

Beatrice Blümer, University of Kassel, Germany, 'The Liber insularum Archipelagi by Cristoforo Buondelmonti'.

Charlotte Evans, University of Manchester, UK, 'The Cartographical Waterscapes of the Survey of India 1905-1947'.

Carolina Martínez, Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM-CONICET), Argentina, 'Mapping the Polar Regions: the Geopolitical Uses of the "Thule" Toponym in the Early Modern Atlantic World (16th-18th C.)'.

  There were thirteen applications, two each from Brazil, Germany and USA, and one each from Argentina, Canada, France, India, Singapore, Vietnam and UK.
